There is just not enough information in the product description here to fully convey that this mat WILL NOT WORK with DDR Hottest party 2, even though it DOES work with the original Hottest party.
I feel that many customers see that the label on the box and the product description which plainly state that it IS compatible with Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party." This leads them to believe (erroneously) that it should also work with DDR Hottest Party 2 since they are made by the same people.
Well it DOES NOT.
Amazon, and every other seller out there, should PLAINLY say this in the product description and warn their customers before they buy and get it home only to find out that it will NOT WORK for them for Hottest Party 2.
If you have the original DDR Hottest Party, Dancing With The Stars, or MC Groovz Dance Craze game then this mat WILL work. But Hottest Party 2 seems to be the more popular of the dancemat games for Wii and the one you find in stores and many people are getting duped into buying this mat for it and it DOES NOT WORK.
I think there is a workaround somewhere in the internet on how to rewire the cable with resistors, and maybe even a converter plug fix for $10 to get this mat to work with Hottest Party 2 but I can't seem to find it at the moment.
There is a LOT of bad information floating around for this product.
And yes, it does stink like funny plastic when you first pull it out of the box for a few days. It goes away.Get more detail about Wii Dancing Mat.
