I first played these games on my windows 98 and loved them, but, now that I have Windows XP installed, I was worried. These games play better and have much better graphics than I imagined possible - They're great! I even considered keeping a seperate PC loaded with Window 98 just for these games based on some of the reviews stating problems with playing on XP; this is a NON-ISSUE. The game play is actually smoother and the graphics are much better.
BTW - I don't play games other than the AOE series and an old copy of Breath of Fire III for the PS1. My roommate plays dozens of Gamecube, PlayStation and GBA games that I just never could get into. The AOE series is like golf for geeks; it is very challenging and a whole lot of fun - I play for hours after spending all day writing and editing code.
