I just bought these after a couple of rock band sessions at my new place. I was hoping that they would silence the noise from hitting the pads quite a bit (they are called silencers after all). I placed one silencer over my red RB2 drum pad (I didn't remove the plastic rim) and compared noise with and without silencers. Excepting hitting the plastic rim, however hard I hit, the silencer performed the same as a naked pad. I was very disappointed to find this as these are $20. They DO however give a little bit more bounce back on the stick, but that is about all I noticed.
Perhaps the trick is to stick them on under the plastic rim? But all in all, after hearing that they cause you to lose hits when playing I'd say these are not worth getting.Get more detail about Rock Band Drum Silencers.
